Belmino 600 El Camino Real Project

The Conco Companies is providing a full range of concrete services on a mixed use building in Belmont, CA for the Millbrae based owner/developer Central Peninsula Development, LLC.  The Belmino was designed by the firm of Levy Design Partners Architecture and CHS Development Group is serving as the general contractor.  The structural engineer is Hoogerwerf Engineering Group, Inc. Located at 600 El Camino Real, the 101,423 sq. ft., 3-story building will have 10,700 sq. ft. of retail/commercial space at ground level and one, two, and three-bedroom condominiums on the upper levels (32 residential units in all).  It also includes underground basement parking for residents, a courtyard and landscaped rear yard.

Our responsibilities on the project include providing concrete pumping, reinforcement, formwork, finishing, and shotcrete services.  For the project, we will place approximately 4,400 cubic yards of concrete and shotcrete as well as 392 cubic yards of our proprietary cellular concrete, Confoam. We are also providing 375,000 pounds of rebar and post tension reinforcement.  Conco began working on the project in March 2017 and will finish in February 2018.  Central Peninsula Development says the building will open to residents sometime in fall or early winter of 2018.

The architecture firm on the project is Levy Design Partners, a ten-person, woman-owned architecture firm based in San Francisco that has been providing the area with architectural services for more than 37 years.  CHSDG is also a regional developer located on the San Francisco Peninsula and working in San Mateo, Santa Clara and San Francisco Counties. Gateway Village - The Conco Companies

The Conco Companies is providing a full range of concrete services on the Gateway Village Project in Santa Clara, CA for the Palo Alto based owner/developer Essex Property Trust, Inc.  The project is designed by BDE Architecture and the general contractor is ZCON Builders.  The structural engineer is FBA Structural Engineers.  The 840,563 sq. ft. project includes a 476-unit apartment building and parking garage wrap. The 6-story building is designed to wrap around a 5-story parking garage with a basement along with an additional 3 to 4 story residential component that surrounds the entire residential units. The parking garage will accommodate 776 vehicles.  The Gateway Village Project is located at the corner of Lawrence Expressway and El Camino Real.

Our responsibilities include providing concrete pumping, reinforcement, formwork, finishing, and shotcrete services.  For the project, we expect to place 29,900 cubic yards of concrete as well as shotcrete.  We are also providing 4,500,000 pounds of rebar and post tension reinforcement.  Conco crews began work in March 2017 and we expect to complete the job in February 2018. 

Along with the residential component to the Gateway Village Project, the 12.6-acre site will also include 108,600 sq. ft. of retail and commercial development. It will offer small courtyards, plazas and open spaces as well as a beautifully landscaped central garden and public plaza that includes a performance area, food kiosks and eating areas, and children’s play areas.  Lush, landscaped pedestrian paths will link retail shops as well as residential housing and provide a safe separation from vehicle traffic.  The apartment residences are set back from the retail area to ensure privacy and quiet.

Avenue One - The Conco Companies

The Conco Companies recently provided concrete services on the Avenue One Project in San Jose, CA for the San Ramon based owner/developer Lennar.  The buildings were designed by the KTGY Architecture + Planning firm and the general contractor was Lennar.  Harris & Sloan Consulting Group was the structural engineer.  The project consists of two residential buildings with a total of 107 units as well as two levels of below grade parking to accommodate 218 vehicles for each building.  The project is located at the corner of Charlotte Drive in the heart of Silicon Valley.    

Conco’s responsibilities on the Avenue One Project included providing concrete pumping, reinforcement, formwork, finishing, and shotcrete services.  During the course of the project, we placed approximately 8,000 cubic yards of concrete along with shotcrete.  We also provided 1,000,000 pounds of rebar and post tension reinforcement.  Conco crews began work on the project in November 2016 and our end of the job was completed in December 2017.

Westfield Valley Fair Expansion - The Conco Companies

The Conco Companies is providing concrete reinforcement and shotcrete placement services for the Westfield Valley Fair Podium and Garage Expansion Project in Santa Clara, CA.  The project is being developed by the Century City based owner Westfield Design & Construction and is designed by JPRA Architects.  The McCarthy Building Company is the general contractor and Desimone Consulting Engineers is the structural engineer.  This is an extremely large project that consists of a multi-faceted open and covered mall expansion of in-line shop spaces for between 70 to 100 stores along with a 150,000 sq. ft.  Bloomingdale’s.  The project also includes 6-levels of below grade parking with 1,300 stalls and roof-top parking, which will add an additional 567,495 sq. ft. to the already existing structure. The project is located off Stevens Creek Blvd. and N. Winchester Blvd.  

Conco’s responsibilities on the project include providing our reinforcement and shotcrete services.  During the course of the project, we will provide 15,500,000 pounds of rebar and post tension reinforcement as well as 2,955 cubic yards of shotcrete.  The challenges of the Westfield Valley Fair Expansion lie not only in the magnitude of the project but with the aggressive schedule and anticipated shortage of resources.  Conco began work on the project in June of 2017 and we will complete our end of the job in July, 2018. 

In total the entire Westfield Valley Fair Expansion will encompass 2.2 million square feet and cost an estimated $1.1 billion.  Along with the new Bloomingdale’s, the mall will have a high-end theater, a new dining district in the open air promenade and more retail stores. The project is expected to be finished in 2019.

Two Recent Parking Garage Projects

The Conco Companies recently completed a parking structure in Fremont, CA and another bigger one in Redwood City. For both projects, we provided a full range of concrete services including concrete pumping, reinforcement, formwork, finishing and shotcrete.

The Innovia Parking Garage Project

Innovia - The Conco Companies

The Innovia Parking Garage Project in Fremont was developed by the Sacramento based owner St. Anton Communities. The project’s architect is CPC Choate Parking Consultants, Inc. and the general contractor is Hurley Contractors Inc. Ficcadenti Waggoner and Castle Structural Engineers served as the structural engineers. The 192,711 sq. ft. garage will have one level at grade and four above grade levels to accommodate 530 vehicles. The project is located at the corner of Lopes Court and Industrial Drive in Fremont, CA.

Conco began the project in May of 2017 and completed it in January, 2018. Our responsibilities included concrete pumping, reinforcement, formwork, finishing, and shotcrete services. During the course of the project we placed 6,798 cubic yards of concrete along with shotcrete. We also provided 1,300,000 pounds of rebar and post tension reinforcement.

The Stanford Redwood City Parking Garage Project

Stanford Redwood City Parking Garage - The Conco Companies

The Stanford Redwood City Parking Garage in Redwood City is the other project, which will be completed in February 2018. Developed by the Stanford University Land, Buildings, & Real Estate, the architect on the 346,741 sq. ft. project is ZGF Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Architects LLP and the general contractor is Devcon Construction Inc. The structural engineer is SEI Structural Engineers Incorporated. The parking garage is located between Broadway & Bay Road, backing up to Second Ave.

The project consists of a below grade parking garage level and 6 levels above grade for a total of 346,741 square feet and 1,041 parking stalls. Conco’s responsibilities on the project included providing concrete pumping, reinforcement, formwork, finishing, and shotcrete services. During the project we will place 20,500 cubic yards of concrete as well as shotcrete. We are also providing 3,100,000 pounds of rebar and post tension reinforcement.
