The Conco Companies is providing a full range of concrete services on Phase II of the Santa Clara Square Project (Buildings 3-5) in Santa Clara, CA. The owner/developer is the Irvine Company and the project is designed by the architectural firm, MVE + Partners. Western National Contractors is the general contractor and FBA, INC. Structural Engineers is serving as the project’s structural engineers.
The entire project consists of 1,763 residential units within 7 separate, 5-story buildings, all wrapped with concrete garage structures and a central promenade that includes around 40,000 square feet of ground-floor retail. The Santa Square Buildings are located between Scott Blvd & Augustine Drive from Octavius Drive to Main Street.
Conco was awarded Phase II of the project which is three of the seven 5-story buildings (861 of the residential units) and wrapped parking structures for a total of 642,886 sq. ft. Conco’s responsibilities include providing concrete pumping, reinforcement, shotcrete, formwork, and finishing services. During the project, we expect to place 22,700 cubic yards of concrete as well as shotcrete. In addition we are providing 3,100,000 pounds of rebar and post tension reinforcement. Conco crews began work on the project in October 2017 and will finish the job in August 2018.
According to the Irvine Company Apartment Communities, the apartment homes will offer luxury studio and one- and two-bedroom living spaces and will be adjacent to open park areas, diverse retail and popular dining options. Residents will also enjoy lots of amenities such as four pools, outdoor dining areas with BBQs and fireplaces, state-of-the-art fitness centers, a 3-acre park and access to the San Tomas Aquino Trail, and more. The Santa Clara Square complex expects to receive LEED Gold certification for its environmental sustainability.
