The partners that collaborated on the development of the Ilani Casino and resort announced during a press conference the formation of an investment group for expanding the facility to include a 14-story, 300-room hotel. The casino’s hotel will accommodate additional space for gaming.

As the development company, the Cowlitz Indian Tribe announced the casino will receive exterior and interior updates, as well as the opening of two new restaurants. The hotel project comes on the heels of the completion of a 2,500-seat meeting and entertainment center that competes with similar dual-purpose facilities located in greater Portland, Oregon.

After the hotel opens, along with the new restaurants and additional gaming space, the Ilani property will exceed 400,000 square feet. The gaming space alone covers more than 100,000 square feet, with 17 table games and 2,500 slot machines.

As an independent contractor, Conco Companies provides shotcrete, concrete formwork, concrete pumping, concrete trucking, and concrete reinforcement services for the Ilani Casino Hotel project. Our ability to work safely and efficiently on large-scale projects helped Conco Companies receive the contract for the concrete phase of the construction project. Conco Companies has developed a reputation for rapidly adapting to the changes made for fast-paced projects such as the Ilani Casino Hotel. We started on the project in July 2021, with an expected completion date to be sometime during April of 2022.

In May 2020, The Conco Companies topped out Angelo Tower, a 150,000 SF project that produced new retail space, new office space and multiple low-income housing units, in the Vancouver community. Also contributing to the project were Robertson & Olsen Construction, Wilson Architects PLLC, and KGA Consulting Engineers.

For Conco’s portion of the project, we provided concrete services not limited to concrete pumping, concrete placing, horizontal elevated-deck formwork, vertical cast-in-place formwork, engineering, shotcrete, and detailing. Our project scope included Slab on Grade (SOG), three elevated decks, and three elevated Slab on Metal Decks (SOMDs).

From June 2019 to November 2019, The Conco Companies helped build the Vancouver Center, a 26,500 SF mixed-use apartment complex in downtown Vancouver. The complex is LEED certified and was developed by the Holland Partner Group. We provided structural concrete services including concrete pumping, reinforcement, formwork, construction trucking, and shotcrete.

The Vancouver Center is a retrofit podium-type structure that’s a continuation of an existing elevated-deck parking structure. Conco was tasked with adding another elevated deck and retrofitting the existing deck. Additionally, Conco was tasked with keeping the parking structure open for use during construction.

In late November 2020, The Conco Companies began providing concrete services for the construction of the EBS Building, a high-end residential living space in Portland, OR. Conco was selected for our expertise in delivering exceptional concrete services and navigating jobsites with limited space. We will provide a range of services, including pumping, reinforcement, formwork, placement, and detailing.

The EBS Building consists of a 12,500 SF footprint, with one level of below-grade parking, a back-of-house working area, and four elevated decks. The project’s total size is 55,000 SF with concrete slabs and slab-on grade. When completed in early June 2021, this will expand an established community in the heart of one of Portland’s busiest districts.
