Conco to Break Ground for 6-Story Affordable Housing Community in Los Angeles
In late January 2021, The Conco Companies is scheduled to provide a full concrete services package for Chesterfield Apartments, an affordable housing community in south Los Angeles. Services include formwork, reinforcement, concrete pumping, shotcrete, and finishing services. Conco will also install a mat slab foundation at the whole footprint of the lot, shotcrete columns, and walls with board finish.
Chesterfield Apartments will be a 6-story building containing 43 residential affordable units, located near Exposition Park. The residential units will be studios ranging from 400 to 415 square feet, and one will be a 836 square feet, 2-bedroom manager’s unit. Also featured in the building are a common area for onsite property management offices, bicycle storage room, community room, community laundry facilities, and outdoor landscaped areas. These amenities will enhance the living standard for low-income and homeless residents.
This project is developed by Wakeland Housing, managed by RD Olson Construction, and is part of the passed Proposition HHH, a $1.2 Billion bond that was designed to provide help and housing to homeless and low income residents across Los Angeles.
Chesterfield Apartments will be completed by the end of the second quarter of 2022, and is one of Conco’s most recent affordable housing projects.
