USC Pasadena Medical Office Building
This four-story medical office building in Pasadena will also contain 3 levels of subterranean parking. The structure will be comprised of structural slabs up to ground level, as well as metal deck slabs and a steel structure above.
VE & ConFoam
As part of our VE efforts, Conco eliminated the gravel beneath the SOG and will utilize the excavated and recompacted native material, as was consistent with allowable methods identified by the soils report. This not only produced a substantial savings to the project owner, but also eliminated the need to off-haul and dispose of hundreds of yards of useful soil.
In addition, deep sewer ejector and sump pits had massive footprints for their benched excavations. We elected to use ConFoam to backfill around these pits, which produced a substantial time savings to the operation as well as allowed for simple future utility installations within the footprint.
